Solo: A Star Wars Story is about, you guessed it, Han Solo. However, this isn’t the Han Solo we know from the films who was hanging out with Leia and Luke while fighting the Empire (and The First Order), but a younger, less experienced version. In fact, he’s so young he doesn’t even look like the same guy. Time changes a scoundrel.
While many familiar characters are in Solo: A Star Wars story, namely Han (Alden Ehrenreich), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), there are plenty of fun new characters, too. My favorite new character is L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), Lando’s droid, who is very funny. The relationship between her and Lando is entertaining. Another new character that I really enjoyed is Kira (Emilia Clarke).
The film is about Han Solo’s journey from thief to smuggler, and, I guess, a good guy.
Oh yeah, the train in the movie is SO COOL.
What’s neat about the film is that even though the audience knows how things will basically end, due to the other Star Wars movies, it still manages to surprise you. There are twists and turns and lots of action, some of which would be considered a spoiler, and since I’m not a horrible person I won’t say anything about them.

One of the overall themes of Solo: A Star Wars Story is trust and teamwork because the characters need to rely on each other to complete their mission. It is also about relationships, which build on trust. Many of the relationships that form in Solo carry on into other Star Wars films, so it’s cool to see how they start.
The best relationship, obviously, is the one between Han and Chewie. It is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
If at all possible, don’t see it solo. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
